House cleaning vs. My Mother's house cleaning

I just cleaned my house, or thought I did on Tuesday evening. Cleaned the kitchen, swept, mopped, cleaned the bathrooms, did most of the laundry.

However, yesterday my mother decides to 'surprise me' and really clean my house.

Does anyone else ever feel like they are in an 'Everybody Loves Raymond' Episode?

I'm not a neat freak. My mother on the other hand is. I don't mind things on my countertops and I tend to 'organize' by piles. This is nothing new.

I can't find a blasted thing!!!! *sigh* However, my countertops and the few appliances left on top (only because there was no place left for them to go) sparkle. My piles---I'm still looking for those.

We leave on vacation tomorrow and now I'm repiling piles so that I know what I need to take, to pack, to leave.

I'm smiling. Just keep smiling. Just keep smiling, smiling, smiling.......

Fun...

I love writing kick-ass women. Just thought I'd share. It's been awhile since I really had one. Strong ones, yes. I like all my females to be strong in one way or another be they stay-at-home-moms or hired assassins. ;) So I'm currently writing Reen. Who's a shifter. More about her later when i can talk about her. She's fun, so is Saker, her mate. :)

What else? this week, I've done all the laundry, cleaned half of my house, finished a story, started another that's a short and am currently about a forth of the way through it. What's left? Packing. I hate packing. Really I do.

And that sums it up for me.

Thought for the day: What am I forgetting now?

The name game

We have a new cat we adopted. Her name, from the adoption agency was Bobbi (she's a bobtail cat). My youngest decides he's going to rename her.
in a week the cat has been called:
Bobbi
Bob
Diamond
Cowboy ( I have no idea)
Tuesday
Darling
Sasha
Darling again
Bobbi
Amy.

I'm told that he might call her Vadar. Vadar could be a girl too. Or maybe Jedi. He tells me names are very, very important. Can't argue with the kid. Took me nine months to choose his and I won't admit how long it takes to come up with character names. I'll have to remember to post a picture of the still-naming cat.

Never Give All the Heart

Never give all the heart, for love
Will hardly seem worth thinking of
To passionate women if it seem
Certain, and they never dream
That it fades out from kiss to kiss;
For everything that's lovely is
But a brief dreamy kind delight.
O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all the smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.
